Leather Man Ltd Grand Slam Belt

For over 50 years, Leather Man Ltd. has been crafting excellent New England belts in a small factory. We have learned that there are certain rules to follow in making a quality belt. Firstly, we use only the best components. The brass is from the same foundry that supplies buckles to Vuitton, Coach, and Dooney - it is all cast, hand-polished to a low luster, and lacquered. Moreover, it is fully compliant with California Proposition 65. The leather is vegetable-tanned, top-grain, shoulder leather with an aniline dye, produced by North America's largest tannery. All ribbons are designed by us, with sometimes five or six iterations to achieve the desired effect.

The most important factor, however, is the workmanship. The combined experience of our factory employees amounts to 278 man-years, with an average tenure of 13 years per employee. Interestingly, Leather Man has no quality control department, as every employee is responsible for ensuring perfect craftsmanship, not just occasionally, but consistently, year after year. This mindset takes time to develop, but once in place, the process runs smoothly. The truth is, people take more satisfaction in making high-quality products.

Our work is the product of a collaborative team - sewers, cutters, painters, cobblers, salespeople, and even owners. We are content in our work, fostering a warm, cooperative workplace often filled with laughter. This workplace is located in Essex, Connecticut, and we are fully compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Regarding our "Made in America" status, we don't ask you to buy our products simply because they are American-made. We ask you to consider our products because they are well-made, stylishly designed, and offer good value. And yes, they are indeed made in America.

The classic styling of our belts is much copied, but rarely equaled. They run small, so please order one size up from your pant size. For example, if you wear a size 34 pant, order a size 36. The belts feature a Grand Slam design, suitable for Permit, Bonefish, and Tarpon on a navy cotton web.
